On Saturday, 30 September, in a battle to rival the original Riggs vs Billie Jean King, Battle of the Sexes, Avon Ladies took on Avon Gents in the 2025 Competition for the The Jim Stewart Plate
Not only were several sets of spouses pitted against each other, newbies got their first taste of competitive bowling, and many a club rivalry was played out in what turned out to be pretty wet conditions.
The event kicked off with a Spider, won by John Hathaway.
The Gents, and reigning champions, retained the trophy - congratulations to them.
