Match Report - 11 Sep 2026, Avon Bowling Club (est 1924) Pickering Triples 2 lost to Shipston Sports
A much closer match than on Wednesday, fighting for a draw until the last bowl. Ken, Colin and Keith signed off with an excellent 14 - 12 victory, coming from behind at halfway (why are we always behind at halfway?) to grab a much needed two points. Andy S. Paul and Nic W. floated gently to a less needed defeat but Martin, skipping his first match for us, almost led Bill and Nik S. to glory. Behind by only one point on the final end, another close head meant it was only after the final bowl that we had to relinquish any chance of a win or draw.
29 points this season was just less that the 31 we achieved last season but with so many new and inexperienced bowlers playing it was a great effort and bodes well for next season.
