Match Report - 31 Jul 2026, Avon Bowling Club (est 1924) Pickering Triples 2 beat WCC Staff
Our biggest win of the season and once again everyone contributed to our overall victory. This time it was Andy S. Kevin and Nic W. who just fell short recovering from a disastrous loss of 5 on the first end and coming back from 7 - 17 down to just miss out 17 - 19 at the finish.
Masterful displays of Avon bowling on the other two rinks ensured a great result. Ken, Nik S and Keith accelerated to a 6 point leading margin at half way and never let it slip, winning 19 - 13. Kim, Colin R. and Neil were simply imperious, winning 14 out of 18 ends and cruising to a 22 - 9 triumph. It’s been a great turnaround and l’m pleased to say that l think all squad members have now tasted victory. I might have to change my expectations to more than getting double figures on each rink from now on.
