Match Report - 29 Jul 2026, Avon Bowling Club (est 1924) Pickering Triples 2 beat Home Guard
Unbelievable, a winning streak and another 6 points with an overall 49-44 victory. Kim, Mark and Nico were never head but recovered from 13 - 3 down at halfway to 17 - 10 down at the close to make sure we won on the overall score. Ken, Martin and ‘one end’ Neil were only behind once after a disastrous loss of four on one end but their heads didn’t drop and they ran out 18 - 14 winners after a slightly tense final end.
On the final rink the Spink phenomenum continued. This week, partnered with Nik S. and Keith the trio turned a 6-6 draw at half way to a resounding 21 - 13 triumph. With bar by Sandra, snacks by Rod, and pithy observations from Neville our afternoon was replete. I could get used to this.
