Match Report - 15 Jul 2026, Avon Bowling Club (est 1924) Pickering Triples 2 lost to Stratford 2
Nothing to lose game against top of the table Stratford turned into a tight contest where we so nearly recorded our first winning rink. Keith, Jon and Andy S. were never ahead after the first end but new man Andy R., Martin and Kim were 8 - 8 with three ends to go when it all fell apart. I asked Kim what he wanted to drink afterwards ‘Arsenic’ he replied. Even more frustratingly Ken and the Nicks were ahead until the last end where we ended up losing by 1 shot. In theory it wasn’t a bad result against the best team in the league but it didn’t feel like it.
