Match Report - 22 Apr 2026, Avon Bowling Club (est 1924) Pickering Triples 2 drew with Pickering Spring Gala, RLS CV31 3PT
Swashbuckling skips of Pickering 2 Ken Basnett, Kim Yates and Andy Spink did the team proud at the Pickering Gala this week. Given we had come bottom of Division 3 in the Pickering League we did not have high hopes going into this event but our team of Titans triumphed 10 shots to 2 against Wellesbourne in their first game.
After that reality reared its ugly head and we suffered losses against Lillington and Royal Leamington Spa. Nevertheless the boys battled on and finished the day with an excellent 7 - 4 win against Warwickshire County Council.
In the end we came a creditable 16th out of 30 teams and managed to win three prizes in the raffle, a very encouraging start to the season. If you are curious about the Pickering 1 team performance please contact Mark Nevill.
