We are hosting our President (Stratford Upon Avon Mayor) at the 102nd Mayors match on Thursday this week - 09 Jul.
There will be nearly 30 guests from the Mayors office, so we can expect a busy evening for the club which I know you will turn up to support.
The arrangements for the evening have been circulated in a club email, but the expected schedule for the evening is as follows;
Schedule:-
- 4.30pm food arriving (JD at club)
- 5pm onwards setting up the rinks and putting bowls out for guests
- 5.30pm guests start arriving. Issue playing guests with bowls as they arrive
- 6pm Mayor arrives
- 6.15pm opening speeches from Club Captain/Mayor
- 6.30pm start bowling
- Play for 1 to 1.5hrs
- Closing speeches about 8.30pm
A number of the guests have been to these events in the past, but we should consider all of them to be enthusiastic amateurs (with the exception of last years Major whose Dad is a Level 2 Bowls England coach), so lots of support, friendly guidance and make sure they don't put themselves or anyone else at risk!
