New for the 2026 Season, and launched as part of the Friday evening social events the Social Bowling League is a great opportunity for members to roll up in a structured competitive way.
This is the ideal way for members who don’t play competitive matches on a regular basis to do so in a friendly environment. It's also gives new members, or those just looking for some guidance, an opportunity to be mentored by a more experienced member . . . something like a buddy system.
Matches can be played at any time once you have signed up to the league.
Matches should be arranged by the members wanting advice/guidance/coaching
Format
- £3 entry fee (pay behind bar)
- Any member can enter
- All members who enter shall play each other once
- Mat will be decided on the toss of a coin
- Four woods, 5 ends per match
- 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss
- Points will be awarded for number of ends won
- Competition will be completed when all signed up members have played each other once. When that has been done the top 2 members will play off in a grand final!
- This competition will be managed by the members who sign up
- Club Captain will maintain a league table which will be updated weekly after matches have been played
- So, following the match the Club Captain needs the following information (either by email or messaging):
- Who played
- What the score was
- Number of ends per person
Please remember that this is a friendly competition so any issues should be worked out during the match
Prizes (TBD) will be awarded at the end of the competition!
