At last I have managed to find time to give some feedback on the KDL season that finished just a couple of weeks ago.
My first task as vice captain was to learn how to send out team selections to all involved and with the help of Mark Nevill we got that sorted. Mark has always been there helping me which I have fully appreciated.
Season-wise we have struggled but always tried our best AND managed to not to be bottom of the league.
For information, there are 15 teams in the league with no promotion or relegation, which equates to 28 matches throughout the summer. We finished 14th and we will do better next year.
Through the season we have had 32 members who have played in the KDL, some with a lot of experience and some very new players.
I would like to say a big Thank you to Mick Crutchley who after playing in the early season has had to make the decision to hang up his woods due to health issues. Take care Mick.
Also, Bill Crutchley who we will still be seeing around but also will be playing less games. Thank you to you as well, Bill.
Finally, Thank you, to thank all the people who have supplied the catering throughout the season for the home games, at their own expense, which is a great help to the club finances.
I am, believe it or not, already looking forward to next year in whatever role I will play.
Peter Bentham.
KDL vice captain
