Match Report - 20 Aug 2025, Avon Bowling Club (est 1924) Pickering Triples 2 lost to Stratford 2 CV37 7AC
After 6 ends we were leading 7-3, 7-4, and 8-5 and l couldn’t quite believe my eyes. However over the next hour and a half two of our valiant trios succumbed to a strong Stratford team who knew their green very well. On the third rink the unlikely musketeers Basnett, Hounsell and McKinlay stayed ahead throughout their match and ended up winning 16-11. This was a nice boost after a couple of fallow weeks and the first time the captain has played for a winning Pickering 2 team all season. Two games to go and spirits remain high.
