Avon Bowling Club ladies played its last triple game of the Stratford Herald League season with a nail biting finish between Avon and Whitnash. Whitnash started the game very strongly with a 6 and 4 in the first 4 ends against 4 from Avon Bowling Club. Avon then started to dig deep and gradually clawed back ends one by one with many ends achieving single shots to a score of 15/16 going into the final end. The last end was played more or less in the dark and when the skips went up to play Avon was holding 3 shots when Whitnash Skip played her final bowl completely blind and was able to turn around the 3 up advantage to Avon to 1 down. with a final score of 15 shots to Avon and 17 for Whitnash.
Under the scoring system of the Stratford Herald League, Avon won 9 ends and Whitnash won 8 ends plus Whitnash with the highest number of shots was also awarded an extra 2 points ending the final game of the 2025 Season with Avon 9 and Whitnash 8+2
